Solo infinita tristeza [(C) Manu Chao], veramente. Specie in attacco.
Facce spaurite, caos in campo.
Adesso, sette sconfitte consecutive dopo, mi sembrano regrediti a livello genetico-evolutivo.

Have no confidence in the QB spot".

Escluderei Gore.

Quote:
After Monday night's loss, the first time the 49ers have been shut out this season, Jackson said he hasn't played in a more dysfunctional offense in his career. But when pushed on what's ailing his team - whether it's the play-calling, the players or effort - he refrained.

"I can put my finger on it," Jackson said. "But that wouldn't be politically correct"

grazie dell'ottimo lavoro, Anthony

ATTO III: LE DICHIARAZIONI IN E FUORI ONDA DEL MONDAY NIGHT

Veniamo a noi.

Everyone just seems so stuck".

Sono sempre le due cose assieme ("It's the system and the quarterback. It's always both").
"He has all kind of excuses. Of course the injury and the line and the calls. BUT WHEN YOU'RE THERE YOU GOTTA FIND THE WAY TO MAKE PLAYS, TO MOVE THE FOOTBALL, TO FIND SOMETHING POSITIVE".
Inutile tradurre, qui.

Steve continua:
"(...) Nobody's the leader. Noone stands in the locker room and someone says, hey, listen to him".

"Know it when you see it" viene definito questo concetto dai due.

Fuori onda.

Kornheiser a quel punto farfuglia prima e poi sogghigna:
"Steve.. just said.. Steve... did you s... do you... well, I just thought that Steve being with McEntyre...  what he said... just was an eyeopening statement".

Tutti concordano.
E allora Kornheiser e Jaws la sparano tutta:

"Steve just didn't see anything in Alex"
Yes... Yes...
"Yeah... asked him... do you think... do you see things now going other way..?
"Nothing. Nothing. I see nothing. And he's got mechanical problems..."

Ai posteri l'ardua sentenza.
Pensate che siano così scandalose queste dichiarazioni? E, soprattutto, così importanti, adesso come adesso?

E poi presero Ericsson....e Nolan....who's next? Glenville allena ancora?

Finally, Smith admits shoulder and forearm have been killing him
Quarterback Alex Smith finally said what everybody who has watched the 49ers the past three games already knew: His shoulder is greatly affecting his play. And not only that, but his forearm is bothering him, too.

While 49ers head coach Mike Nolan has said the reason for Smith's problems with inaccuracy is not tied to his shoulder, it is quite apparent that Smith has not thown with anywhere near the precision that is expect from an NFL quarterback.

Smith admitted that his shoulder AND his right forearm have been bothering him. Smith first experienced forearm problems during the bye week after he began throwing a lot after having his right arm in a sling for several days.

Smith will not take part in the team portion of practice today because of a forearm strain. While Nolan said he expects Smith to play Sunday, Smith did not make any commitment.

After all, the problems with Smith's shoulder and forearm have created two other potentially long-term problems for Smith: 1) His mechanics appear messed up as he tries to conpensate for the injury; and 2) With his poor play since he returned to the lineup, Smith's confidence has taken a major hit, as well.

Smith underwent an MRI examination on Tuesday, he said. Dr. James Andrews has been consulted on the injury.

Backup quarterback Trent Dilfer is scheduled to take the practice reps with the first-team offense today, and would be expected to start Sunday against the Rams if Smith is held out of action.

For weeks, Smith has insisted that his shoulder is fine, he said, because he thought it would get better. But it hasn't gotten better. The injuries have lingered, and Smith is taking a lot of heat around the country for being an absolute bust.

When people continue to insist that his shoulder is fine, the only reasonable deduction is that Smith must be a really bad quarterback with little hope for improvement. He finally came out and admitted his health issues.

Smith completed just 12 of 28 passes for 114 yards in a 24-0 loss to the Seahawks on Monday. His throwing arm has been wildly inaccurate in the three games since he returned from the shoulder separation he sustained Sept. 30 against the Seahawks.

"Monday night did not feel good, as far as throwing the ball," Smith said.

--Nolan was asked this morning about ESPN analyst and former NFL QB Ron Jaworski's observation that Smith locks his left knee, making a lot of his passes sail high.

"There are technical things we've seen ever since we drafted him, but so is the case with every quarterback and we continue to work though those things," Nolan said. "Is that the reason when he (Smith) is running to his right or left that some of those balls weren't thrown effecitively? No. He's talking about pocket passes. Some of his effectiveness the other night you can't put on Jaworski's expertise of locking the knee outside the pocket."

Nolan was asked if he agreed that sometimes Smith does lock his knee?

"Oh, yeah, he does, at times. (But) you can lock your knee and throw a good ball. I want to make that clear."

--It should be noted that Smith said it was his decision to continue to try to play with this injury. But it's also clear that he now is questioning whether he made the right decision to try to suck it up and play through the injury.

Dal Blog di Matt Barrows:

Trouble in 49erland
Asked yesterday about Alex Smith's health, Mike Nolan said what he's been saying for the last three weeks. "He's fine," Nolan said. Today, however, Smith said he was definitely not fine, revealing for the first time not only lingering problems with his right shoulder and forearm but a disconnect with the coaching staff as well.

Smith will sit out practice today to rest his forearm, which has been sore since the 49ers' bye week. Smith said he probably rushed back too fast from the shoulder injury and put too much pressure on the forearm, which had been in a sling for several days after the shoulder separation. Nolan said he expected Smith to practice tomorrow and to play Sunday against the Rams. Smith's take was a little different. He said he'll make some throws tomorrow and "see how it feels."

The bigger issue continues to be the shoulder itself. Smith said he is still dealing with pain and that the injury certainly has affected his throwing motion. It's also affected his mechanics, which, as many observers have noted, has been off kilter in recent weeks.

"I felt I was making progress," Smith said. "But definitely Monday night I did not feel good as far as throwing the ball. It was not comfortable at all."

And an even bigger issue than that is a sense from Smith that perhaps he rushed -- or was rushed -- back too soon following his Sept. 30 separation. Smith had four weeks off before returning for the Saints game on Oct. 28 and has not looked good since.

"It's really been hard because to continue to have it get reported that you're 100 percent, and that's not really the case," Smith said. "That's been frustrating as well."

Asked whether it would be better for him, and for the 49ers, if he sat out several weeks to give his arm and shoulder time to rest, Smith said it was hard to say.

"I continue to want to be here for this team," he said. " I think there's nothing worse than when things get tough (and you) bow out. I want to continue to be a part of this and get this turned around. So who knows."

We spoke to Smith minutes after speaking with Nolan, who was asked if he could commit to Smith being the long-term starter with the team. He said there's a possibility that every player on the team could be gone next year, including the quarterback. He also said he didn't feel bound to Smith even though Smith was his first-ever draft pick, going No. 1 overall in 2005.

"My responsibility to the organization is winning games," Nolan said.

Other notes:

Nolan said that he's spoken with John and Jed York in recent weeks. "They've been very supportive and it's (job security) not been a concern of mine," Nolan said.

Smith deve andare in injury reserve list. Punto e basta.

NOLAN OSCENO - NOLAN VIA

Basta. Adesso basta davvero.

Comment: Does Alex's admission seem like a convenient out to deflect the heavy criticism?

Response: He needed to say it because it's so obviously true. Smith's worst three games as a professional have been his last three games. Did you see the Saints' game? Did you see the pain he endured. Nobody else, other than Julian Peterson, said the stuff that needed to be said. --Matt M.

TUTTO. TUTTO MI SAREI ASPETTATO. ANCHE CHE MAGARI SCENDESSE GESU' CRISTO E DICESSE CHE PER LUI SMITH E' UNA MERDA. MA L'ULTIMO DEGLI ULTIMI CHE MI SAREI ASPETTATO MANDASSE SMITH AL MACELLO ERA NOLAN. INCREDIBILE. DAVVERO INCREDIBILE.

Nolan: Communication with QB isn't as good as I thought
Niners coach Mike Nolan spoke to the media at 11:45 a.m., at which point he said Alex Smith would sit out today's practice with a sore forearm but that he was expected to be back in the starting lineup Sunday against the Rams. Then, Smith admitted for the first time publicly that he has been playing injured. After practice, Nolan said that was news to him.

* * *

"I think that it would be a good idea if he said that to me before he said that (to the media)," Nolan said about Smith's comments that there is lingering discomfort in his shoulder and forearm.

"I know this, everybody's sore. I'm sore . . . has that affected my performance? Maybe, but I'm not going to talk about it. There are a lot other guys who are sore. I'm sure Derek Smith's eyes are sore. All right?"

Q: But isn't it different that we're talking about a quarterback's shoulder?

Nolan: "There is a medical staff with him all the time. All he has to do - all any player has to do - is say, 'This is my issue.' That works. That works. In games, when the doctor says he's OK and the guy says he doesn't want to come out, that's their choice. If the doc says no, there's no discussion. So the decision on that is really out of my hands. All I can do is pull a guy if he's not performing at the level I expect him to do. Then that's my area. But if the medical staff gives me the information that somebody is OK, I'm just following up on that. That's what I go off of. If I was the doctor, I could give you more."

Q: Did Alex tell you his shoulder and forearm have been bothering him?

Nolan: "To the point that it affected his play? After I spoke with you guys today, yeah, he said something about it. . . . But that's the first he's said that to me."

Q: But wasn't it obvious something was wrong with him?

Nolan: "It was obvious he wasn't playing well the other night. A couple weeks ago there were two or three balls (poorly thrown). Two or three is different. The other night it was 10 or 12 balls that didn't look like it. So that made sense. I spoke with him to get first-hand information. But that was after I spoke with you guys at 11:45 (a.m.). But, again, until I'm told that . . . I've said to Fergy (team athletic trainer Jeff Ferguson), 'Is there something wrong here?' . . . Again, from a medical staff standpoint when we say we're fine and all . . . when a guy says he's sore, that's normal. Some of that soreness comes and goes. But, again, that's what you go off of."

Q: Do you still expect Alex to start Sunday?

Nolan: "Right now, I'd say I hope so. We'll see. He went to see the doctor. He'll come out tomorrow and he's supposed be out here, and hopefully that's what happens. But I'm going to get an honest answer."

Q: Do you think you and Alex have an issue here?

Nolan: "I spoke with him right after practice, and maybe I need to speak with him again because of these things being said. In fact, I'll go see him now. The communication lines, you know, aren't as good as I thought. And we'll see what that's about. Please don't assume too much, but then again what makes a good story is you have to assume . . . . And we'll have to see where that's coming from."

Nolan conferma. Smith gioca male. Nolan dice che la spalla è ok. Smith cambia idea. I due non sono allineati. Scoppia il casotto. [mi ricorda l'Inter, senza OFFESA per nessuno. Nolan = Mancini, Smith = Adriano?

Diverso: stile Juve Moggi? Di nuovo senza offesa, mi riferisco a situazione "problema -> domanda" RISPOSTA UNIVOCA. Stop. Fate tutte le supposizioni del mondo. 49ers ha parlato. Stop.

Chiacchierata cuore in mano Smith & Nolan.
I once told a player we would sign him for a $500 bonus. His answer was, and I quote: “Well, I only have about $100 now, but I can get you the rest in about a week.” “No,” I answered, “We pay you.”

Enough is enough. A tutto c'è un limite.
Quest'anno ho sopportato tutto dal nostro head coach.
Questo NON può essere tollerato.

Punto.
