Il fatto è che a Denver hanno sempre fatto bene tutti, per quanto poco possa attirare, un anno intero di Mike Bell sarebbe sicuramente meno tragico di un anno intero di Ramsey (anche se la perdita sarebbe comunque notevole, per me Henry può fare 1500 yards)

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Denver Broncos first-round draft pick Jarvis Moss injured his left knee during 1-on-1 pass-rush drills Monday and was taken off the field for medical tests.


The Broncos were awaiting results of an MRI exam and holding out hope he wasn't seriously hurt. Early indications were that it was not serious, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reported.

"They really don't know, they think it's a twist," coach Mike Shanahan said between practices. "It's not loose right now, which is a good sign. But until you look at that MRI, you're not really sure."

The 6-foot-6, 265-pound defensive end from Florida was drafted with the 17th overall pick to provide Denver with some much-needed help rushing the passer. He signed a five-year, $18 million deal on July 28.


Moss was injured when he did an inside spin move past offensive tackle Jacob Rogers. He began hopping on one leg before crumpling to the grass and stayed down for five minutes before getting up and walking gingerly to the sideline, his right leg stiff. He got into a cart and was taken inside team headquarters.

It appeared that Moss got hurt when he planted his left leg in the grass and not by banging into Rogers.

"I didn't witness anything," Rogers said. "I was doing 1-on-1s against him and I turned around and saw he was hurt. He planted his foot and spun on the inside. I don't know what happened, how he got hurt. He just spun and got hurt."


Moss was one of three defensive ends the Broncos had their eyes on during the draft. They moved up to select him with the 17th pick, then took two more defensive linemen, second-rounder Tim Crowder from Texas and fourth-rounder Marcus Thomas from Florida.

This was the second big scare for the Broncos in less than a week. On Thursday, linebacker Warrick Holdman suffered a spinal cord concussion during practice and was hospitalized overnight. He hasn't been cleared to return to practice.

Denver Broncos linebacker Warrick Holdman has been advised by doctors not to play football for three months after suffering a spinal cord concussion in a collision with a teammate last week.

Holdman was injured on Aug. 2 when he was trying to tackle running back Mike Bell, who lowered his left shoulder and struck the 243-pound linebacker in his helmet. Holdman went numb for about 40 seconds before regaining feeling in his extremities.

After being hospitalized overnight, Holdman said he was eager to return to practice to fight for the strongside linebacker job, but he never made it back onto the field.

Coach Mike Shanahan said subsequent tests led doctors to advise Holdman not to risk playing football for a while.

"I don't know for sure exactly what it was. When they go in there and evaluate players they give them a bunch of tests and his recommendation for him not to play or do anything for three months," Shanahan said.

Shanahan said he wasn't sure what roster move he would make in light of Holdman's injury.

"Right now it's hard to tell you exactly what we're going to do," he said. "We are talking to his agents and the doctors. Some of this we just found out."

Holdman, a ninth-year pro in his first season in Denver after spending the past two seasons in Washington, is the second candidate for the Broncos' strongside linebacker job to leave the competition with an injury. Free agent Eddie Moore (knee) was placed on the reserve-injured list after clearing waivers earlier this month.
D.D. Lewis, Louis Green, Nate Webster and T.J. Hollowell are still in the mix for the job.

Sembra non sia nulla di particolarmente grave...piuttosto sottolinerei che Ekuban si è rotto il tendine di Achille e che lo rivedremo il prossimo anno...ed io mi taglio i maroni, lo avevo preso al fantasy!

Dai, accidenti...
Certo la preseason non promette niente, però mi pare che la stessa Indy l'anno scorso non avessebrillato e poi sappiamo tutti dov'è arrivata...
Preoccupanti invece i continui infortuni, soprattutto quello di Ekuban...e poi già avevamo ceduto Warren...
Ma questa difesa???
Intendo la linea, come CBs direi che siamo coperti...
