Siamo ormai quasi a fine stagione per gli appasionati di GOLF del forum , ma certo non mancano ancora tornei ed appuntamenti piu' o meno importanti , sia sul tour europeo che su quello americano.
Questa settimana , secondo me , vale la pena puntare lo sguardo su di un torneo che racchiude , storia , curiosita , e prestigio ovvero l' Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
La storia passa attraverso i 3 differenti percorsi su cui il torneo viene giocato , vale a dire St Andrews, Carnoustie e Kingsbarns ; la Scozia quindi che ritorna con i suoi magnifici links e i suoi paesaggi incantati.
La giornata finale poi sull' Old Course di St andrews ci proiettera' ancora una volta in quella che e' considerata la patria del golf.
La prima
curiosita' e' quella di misurare il valore dei partecipanti impegnati su tre percorsi differenti e secodariamente di vederli accompagnati ad un amateur a formare una coppia Pro-Am che partecipa ad un torneo parallelo a quello dei professionisti.
Quindi in campo anche gente dello spettacolo , atleti di altre discipline , attori o comunque cosidetti VIP.
Il prestigio sta nel field dei partecipanti che annovera tutti i migliori giocatori del tour europeo , ad incominciare dal defending Champion Padraig Harrington ( 2007 Open Championship winner ) e via via tutti gli atri (

E poi tornado al prestigio non bisogna dimenticare la prima moneta di circa 640,000 euro che puo' far fare un grosso balzo in avanti a chiunque per la vittoria finale dell' Ordine di Merito Europeo.
