At the very least, it appears the Colts have addressed several need areas -- assuming, of course, that the majority of draftees stick around and make an impact: In the first five rounds, they got a third pass rusher (Jerry Hughes), a hoped-for heir apparent to Gary Brackett (Pat Angerer), much-needed cornerback depth (Kevin Thomas), a 300-plus-pound guard who can bench-press Toyotas (Jacques McClendon) and a blocking tight end (Brody Eldridge).
Polian insisted the other day he never said he's trying to get bigger and stronger on the offensive line, but his actions speak otherwise. He has already signed more than 600 pounds of beef in free agent linemen Adam Terry and Andy Alleman, just added McClendon and, in Eldrige, has what he hopes is an upgrade over Gijon Robinson in point-of-attack blocking.
