Finalmente firmato un FA, con la firma di Shaffer al draft dovremmo andare su un WR......anche se Angelo non è nuovo a sorprese.
Signing OT Shaffer adds to Bears' draft flexibility
Chicago Sun-Times
"Along with acquiring a starting-caliber right tackle, the Bears purchased some flexibility in the draft Wednesday when they agreed to terms with Kevin Shaffer on a three-year, $8 million contract.
With the Bears operating without a backup right offensive tackle in minicamp last week, they needed to act soon. They essentially swapped veterans with the Cleveland Browns, who released Shaffer on March 12 before signing former Bear John St. Clair to play right tackle.
The Bears get a younger player -- Shaffer is 29, St. Clair 31 -- with more experience. Shaffer missed only two starts over the last five seasons and has played left tackle, too.
''I am glad we were able to work something out,'' Shaffer said. ''It's something we were talking about for a while, and I am definitely excited.
''The goal is to come in and win a starting job. We haven't talked too much about that, but when I get there, I want to show them what I can do. I have always been a hard worker, and I am in a situation where I am going to prove myself.''
Shaffer arrives at Halas Hall today to take a physical and sign the contract. He receives a $1.75 million signing bonus and will earn $2.75 million this year."
