The Miami Dolphins were hoping the return of Ricky Williams would give them a boost, but the running back's return lasted just six carries.
Williams suffered a torn chest muscle in Monday night's 3-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to a report in The Palm Beach Post. The injury will require about four months to fully recover.
The Dolphins activated Williams on Monday following a 1 1/2-year suspension, but he injured a shoulder during the second quarter in Pittsburgh after carrying six times for 15 yards. Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons stepped on Williams' right shoulder blade after he fumbled, which apparently caused the injury.
