sono sempre poco carico
siccome henning stà facendo un grande lavoro con henne vi schiaffo li un post di un tifoso che la dice bene
It is clear that while Henne played very well against the Jets, he is still being sheltered by this coaching staff.
Because Henne got sacked 6 times by the Bills, it was imperative that this coaching staff figure out a way to keep their young QB from getting hit and perhaps unnerved and damaged a la John Beck.
What they did was basically go to a max protect scheme. Keep both tight ends and the fullback in. Have one wide receiver. Only two or three guys running routes. Use playaction off a dominant ground game. And it worked to perfection.
On the screen pass to Ricky, both Fasano and Polite blocked the right side, Long and Smiley leaked out to form a wall for Ricky. Smiley made enough of a block to let Ricky bust into the open field. Jake Grove was way out in front of Ricky to get Kerry Rhodes out of the play. The Jets blitzed on this play, rushing all front seven players. That left a 230 lbs powerback with speed and blockers to take out 4 defensive backs in the open field.
Advantage Miami. Clearly.
On the deep play to Ginn, there were only two other route runners. One was Camarillo, who ran a route somewhat parallel to Ginn's, but he pulled inside, taking the safety (Kerry Rhodes) with him, and thus opening up Ginn, who put two great moves on Revis and then used his speed to finish off the job.
Fasano and Haynos stayed in to block and shut down the pass rush on the right side along with Carey. Ronnie was the running back on playaction and stayed underneath as a checkdown. So in reality only two routes of any consequence were being run. The Jets only rushed four, so this means they had SEVEN guys in coverage and Ginn still got past everyone. Ginn was being chased by three defenders, by the way.
The Jets were of course blitzing when Camarillo completed that pass on third down to Camarillo, the out pattern that Henne put some touch on and put it right in Camarillo's hands who get away from Drew Coleman. The Jets again rushed 7. This time the Dolphins had 5 receivers running patterns. Gutsy call in a big situation and Henne delivered.
On the comeback to Camarillo, the Dolphins moved the pocket right and Henne just made an incredible throw. It was clear by this time that Henne was in a rhythm and was making some pretty dang good throws. The Jets rushed 5 on this play. This was the throw of the night.
But for the most part, the Dolphins number one goal was to protect Henne. They knew he would get blitzed a lot so they ran the max protect scheme and he simply made some bigtime throws. He really has a strong arm.
They did keep it pretty simple for Henne, but having that running game and excellent pass protection can do wonders for your young quarterback.
This is exactly the way you handle him, build up his confidence and as he starts to develop, you can open it up more. Great job of the Dolphins handling the QB.
And, I know we love Pennington. But with Henne in there, the area the passing game can cover expands quite a bit.
I'm excited about this kid.
