How did you survive last year in Oakland?
"Most people say that when you're ready to end your career, you go to Oakland. I took it as a learning experience. Please believe I was upset about the whole situation, how it went down. I went over there and they had the understanding I may miss four games (to suspension), then I could come back and play."
But they didn't play you?
"Yeah, it hurt me a lot. I really thought I was going to have a big season. I would have had a big season, but it was a learning experience and I survived."
Then you got out?
"When the draft came about and I was hearing all the (Darren) McFadden talk, it really gave me initiative. I told them, 'Look, if you're going to draft him, please give me the opportunity to leave.' After the draft, they held to their word and let me get back out on the market."
How soon did the Colts call?
"Running backs coach Gene Huey called me the night I got released. They wanted me back; I wanted to be back. Match made in heaven."
Some said you should have been Super Bowl MVP when the Colts won. Have you heard that?
"I get that a lot. I tell people all I wanted was the Cadillac (awarded to Peyton Manning)."
