So what did Rex say on WGR this morning? Listen to it at WGR.
1. It'll be a true QB competition. They're going to run some of training camp on two fields, so there should be enough reps for all four QBs.
2. He wasn't asked, but nothing he said suggested that they're planning on having a fifth QB in the mix.
3. When asked about whether they did as much for the oline as they planned, his clear implication was that they intended to do more but ran out of money. He essentially said some things didn't fall the Bills' way. He said Clay was the priority. And he said they were surprised when Harvin became available, and he present too good an opportunity to pass up. (They must have enough confidence that somehow they'll be okay on the line. That is, they think that they can make the guys returning plus Incognito get the job done. If they didn't think that, they wouldn't have been able to take Harvin - they would have been forced to pass on Harvin and use the money on a lineman.)
4. On Clay, he said this: Toof fast for a linebacker to cover, too big for most DBs. Good blocker, and will fit into Roman's attack. Compared him to Delanie Walker.
5. On Harvin, he said he loves the guy. If they hadn't gone after Sanchez, the Jets were going to take Harvin. He clearly wants to use Harvin as a receiver, where Rex thinks he's good and where he hasn't been utilized. He wants to do that because Sammy was double virtually all the time, and he wants Harvin on the side running slants and daring teams to single him. He said the guy is great in the locker room. He was second in voting by the Jets for quality teammate, even though he'd only been there four weeks before the vote.
6. Said they intend to use Taylor in the read option. Fastest QB in the league.
Bottom line, friends: It's fasten your seatbelts. Gonna be a helluva ride.
