Mario Williams‘ $96 million contract from the Bills included a $19 million signing bonus and a fully guaranteed $5.9 million salary in 2012. His $6.5 million salary in 2013 is guaranteed initially for injury only; after an $8 million option bonus is picked up, it becomes fully guaranteed on the second day of that league year.
Williams has a $1.9 million salary in 2014 and a $10.6 million roster bonus, which is guaranteed for injury only at this time. In 2015, he has a $12.1 million base and a $1 million roster bonus.
In 2016, Williams has an $11.5 million base and a $2.5 million roster bonus. In 2017, he would make a $14 million base salary.
Including $2.1 million in cumulative workout bonuses, it all adds up to $96 million.
