METAIRIE, La. (AP)—New Orleans Saints assistant defensive line coach Travis Jones was suspended 30 days without pay for his admitted role in a real estate scam involving at least 40 people in northwestern Texas.

General manager Mickey Loomis said Monday that the suspension will begin immediately.

“Coach Jones has accepted responsibility for his actions and has cooperated with the investigation of this matter and will also be participating in a program to educate others in the league about his experience,” Loomis said in a written statement. “The actions of Travis Jones violate the NFL’s personal conduct policy and the policies and standards of conduct for employees of the New Orleans Saints.”

In June, Jones entered a plea of conspiracy to commit mail fraud in U.S. District Court in Texas’ Eastern District. Court records show Jones also signed a factual statement admitting his role in the alleged scam, which netted him about $86,000...

“Vilma went to Philadelphia, basically had an exam with (Dr.) Meyers, will be flying back tonight. Certainly no surgery, just a chance for  him to look at it. We’ll start his rehab. We’ll go from there.”

 Is there anyway to project Jonathan’s rehab?

“No. Certainly he’ll be out this week. I think that we’re optimistic that he’s going to be able to start up practice when we get back on Sunday of next week, but we’re going to have to spend a lot of time here in the next six or seven days with treatment and all the things necessary.”

Does Jonathan not having surgery constitute good news?

“Yes. We knew before he flew out this morning that the type of injury he had was not going to be a sports hernia surgery. It’s really more the lower abductor groin area. The key was just having another set of eyes on it to confirm what we found and basically set the plan in place for the rehab.”

La sorpresa sono i 4 TE, ma la scelta era obbligata perchè Shockey e Graham non stanno benissimo al momento...
L'infortunio di Casillas crea molti problemi perchè si dovrà spostare Shanle sul lato forte. In pratica si rivoluziona tutto.
Vari rumors dicono di un interessamento dei Saints per Leinart appena tagliato da Arizona. Come backup sarebbe mica male, specie con un coach specialista come Payton (nasce come QB coach). La vedo però difficile perchè Daniel ha fatto una preseason fantastica e ha scalzato il più esperto Ramsey.
Tra i RB Ivory, che ha fatto una preseason splendida, sembra sarà fuori le prime 3 partite, il che spiegherebbe perchè è stato confermato Wynn che nesuno si aspettava. Wynn potrebbe essere poi tagliato dopo week 3.
Alcuni tagli inaspettati sono stati dettati dalla ottima preseason di Arrington e Gallette (già idolo dei tifosi, se riesce a ritagliarsi spazio questo è una bestia!).

Infine lo splendido messaggio su twitter di McCray dopo essere stato tagliato:

la difesa dello scorso anno non me l'aspettavo. hanno pienamente meritato di essere campioni.

quest'anno Ryan è più a kaxxo duro. Per me sempre postseason ma non sono certo che primi.
