Luca , il tuo idolo Fujita è andato....

Si sapeva da tempo che c'era la possibilità.
Ha trovato un ottimo contratto (data la sua età non più giovanissima) e ha fatto bene. A New Orleans 14 mil (16 in base agli incentivi) non li avrebbe avuti.

Citazione
"Obviously this is a bittersweet time for our family. We're extremely excited about this new opportunity, but it's definitely hard to say goodbye to all the great friends we've made in New Orleans.

"I am so proud of all the things we accomplished here -- both on and off the field -- and I'm proud of the role I played in helping this incredible city experience it's first Super Bowl. For their future, the Saints just didn't value that partnership the same way. And that's fine -- this can be an interesting business, but I wish the Saints nothing but the best.

"We leave New Orleans with no hard feelings whatsoever, and have so many memories that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. New Orleans will always hold a special place in our hearts...it's given us so much. Now it's time to turn the page and start a new journey.

"We're so thankful to Sean & Mickey for bringing us in to be a part of this great organization, and I'm eternally grateful to all the people of this city for embracing us from day one. We will never forget it. My wife just asked me to say that we will always come back to New Orleans. We promise."

"The New Orleans Saints appear to be in the market for a veteran run-stuffer at defensive tackle. They've also shown interest in former Carolina Panther Maake Kemoeatu, according to a league source - a possible fallback option if former San Diego Charger Jamal Williams doesn't work out. Kemoeatu, 32, was a full-time starter for the Baltimore Ravens, then the Panthers, from 2005-2008, but his '09 season was wiped out by a torn Achilles tendon in training camp. The 6-foot-5, 345-pounder reportedly needed a follow-up procedure and still isn't running at full speed yet."

Free agent LaDainian Tomlinson "may" visit the Eagles and Saints after meeting with the Jets, according to SI.com's Peter King.   :sbav:

Free agent FS Darren Sharper believes he would be a good fit with the Jets.
Sharper says he has the "utmost respect" for coach Rex Ryan and loves his aggressive scheme. Sharper added that "there's something about the big lights and the big city that fits me." He also expressed interest in playing for the Bears, another team with a need at safety.  :plaxico:

QB Jake Delhomme, in Cleveland today, scheduled to visit Saints Thurs and Fri.  :excelent:

Free-agent DE Leonard Little will visit the Saints on Wednesday and Thursday, according to a league source.
Little played 12 seasons with the Rams and won a Super Bowl with the team during the 1999 season. Some believed Little would retire after the 2009 season, but he recently expressed a desire to keep playing.
The Saints have a need at defensive end after they released veteran Charles Grant last week. They also will visit with former Chargers DT Jamal Williams and ex-Rams DE James Hall this week, according to a league source.

the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints or the Philadelphia Eagles make an offer to Vikings pass rusher Ray Edwards

Saints Coach Persistent in Riding Cowboys Owner

Last week New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton made news by convincing a waiter at St. Elmo’s Steakhouse to serve a bottle of wine to his party, which had been reserved for Cowboys Owner and GM Jerry Jones. The next day Jones’ party arrived to find the empty bottle on their table with a note on the label that read, “WHO DAT! World Champions XLIV, Sean Payton”

Apparently, the taunting did not stop there. While leaving Indianapolis, Payton and his party boarded the Cowboys private jet and convinced the pilot to take them to Dallas. While in-flight Payton again wrote “WHO DAT!” on the bathroom mirror with an arrow pointing to an un-flushed mess in the lavatory. Jones’ personal limo driver was then convinced to take Payton to the Jones estate where the Saints coach slept with Gene Jones, Jerry’s wife. Jerry returned home to find a brand on Gene’s fancy ass reading, “WHO DAT! World Champions XLIV, Sean Payton.” Jerry had a huge laugh out of the whole ordeal, as he loaded his pump-action Winchester shotgun.

NEW ORLEANS – Running back Justin Fargas could possibly be the Saints first offseason acquisition.

The eighth-year pro was in New Orleans on Tuesday night, eating dinner with Saints officials at Emeril’s in the Warehouse District, a source confirmed to Eyewitness Sports.

The visit could be tied into whether the team decides to match the Philadelphia Eagles’ contract offer with Mike Bell, which was signed Tuesday. It was Bell’s second visit this offseason after the Saints tendered the running back at the lowest possible compensation.

New Orleans has seven days to match the Eagles’ offer sheet.

In seven seasons with the Oakland Raiders, Fargas rushed for 3,369 yards and 10 touchdowns on 827 carries. He fumbled 10 times, losing only four.

But Fargas missed the final two games of the 2009 season with a knee injury and the Raiders cut ties with him this offseason, citing his inability to pass a physical.

Fargas, though, disputes that and he has taken visits with the Browns and Eagles so far during the free agency period.
